Job description · Electrical
An answering service for electricians that takes the panel-out call while you are on a ladder
An AI receptionist answers your electrical company’s phone 24/7 in your business name, sorts a dead circuit from a dangerous one, and on the Always-On plans books the job on your calendar. Flat monthly price. It tells every caller it is an AI in its first sentence, and a caller who reports sparks hears the 911 line before anything else.
We are launching soon. No line goes live until the receptionist passes our published 100-call test (misroute rate under 2%, not one missed emergency). Reserve a spot — free, no card — and you get the demo number and signup link first the day it passes.
AI-OPERATED · DISCLOSED ON EVERY CALL
01 The calls an electrical shop loses
- You are in a crawl space pulling wire with both hands. Two calls ring out. One was a service upgrade worth real money.
- A storm knocks half a neighborhood sideways and the phone rings all evening — after your hours. Every missed ring is a job somebody else gets.
- A general contractor calls to line up a sub for next month, hits voicemail, and calls the next name on the bid list.
Voicemail does not sort a tripped breaker from a burning smell, and it does not book anything. A receptionist that answers and asks the right three questions does.
02 Exactly what callers hear
Every call, day or night, opens with this sentence — only the business name changes, and nothing can be inserted ahead of it:
“Hi, you've reached [Business Name]. I'm an AI assistant, and this call may be recorded. If this is a life-threatening emergency, hang up and dial 911. How can I help?”
If a caller then describes danger — sparks, a burning smell, smoke from an outlet or panel, anyone hurt — the receptionist says “If this is a life-threatening emergency, hang up and dial 911.” again, first, before anything else. Then it asks whether the caller is safe, takes the message, and sends your emergency contact the transcript. A dead circuit with no danger follows the emergency rules you set instead: book it, call you, or hold it for morning.
03 What it does with an electrical call
- Asks what a dispatcher would ask: address, what stopped working, any smell or sound, how soon they need someone
- On the Always-On plans, books the job into Google Calendar, Jobber or Housecall Pro — your real schedule, not a message pad; the $99 After-Hours plan takes the message and captures the lead instead
- Warm-transfers to your mobile during your hours, when your mobile is not the business line we answer; after hours it captures the job instead of losing it
- Texts the caller one booking confirmation — informational only, no offers, STOP honored at once
- Quotes only prices you have published; it never prices a panel change on the phone
- Never gives electrical advice — no troubleshooting over the phone, no “try flipping the breaker”
04 What it costs
Flat monthly, no contract, cancel in writing any time: $99 a month for after-hours and overflow only (it takes the message and captures the lead — calendar booking comes with the Always-On plans), $179 for every call around the clock, or $249 with your Google Business Profile kept up alongside the phone. Minutes and the full tier details are on the pricing section.
05 Straight answers
- Will callers know it is an AI?
- Yes — the first sentence of every call says so, and that cannot be turned off. Several states require the disclosure; we would say it anyway.
- What happens when a caller reports sparks or a burning smell?
- The receptionist repeats “If this is a life-threatening emergency, hang up and dial 911.” before anything else, asks whether the caller is safe, then takes the message and sends your emergency contact the transcript. It is a receptionist, not an emergency service, and it says so.
- Does it transfer callers to me?
- During your hours, yes — a warm transfer to your mobile, when your mobile is not the business line we answer. After hours it takes the message and captures the lead, so nothing is lost — calendar booking happens during your business hours, on the Always-On plans.
- What does an electrician answering service cost here?
- $99 a month for after-hours only, $179 for 24/7, $249 bundled with Google Business Profile management. No per-call fees; minutes past the plan are $0.30 each.
